ION MEDIA NETWORKS APPOINTS BROADCAST TECHNOLOGY VETERAN BRETT JENKINS AS DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT
(West Palm Beach, Fla. – September 24, 2007) – ION Media Networks, Inc. (AMEX: ION) today announced the appointment of Brett Jenkins to the newly created post of Director of Technology Strategy and Development. The addition of Mr. Jenkins underscores the significance of the Company’s digital multi-platform initiatives to its overall growth strategy.
In his new role, Mr. Jenkins will support ION’s development and evaluation of advanced television technology business models. He will also oversee the strategic and logistical direction and implementation of digital television and mobile programs, among other responsibilities. Based in New York, Mr. Jenkins will report directly to David Glenn, President of Engineering, ION Media Networks.

Mr. Jenkins comes to ION with over a decade of engineering and business management experience. Working his way through the ranks of Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia, Inc. (formerly Thales Broadcast & Multimedia, Inc.), Mr. Jenkins most recently held the position of TV Transmission US Product Manager. Previously, he served as Vice President of Engineering and Business Development, reporting directly to the CEO as the chief technical employee. Prior to that, Mr. Jenkins held various director and managerial engineering positions.

Mr. Jenkins is a member of the External Advisory Board for the UMass Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and he formerly sat on the Board of Directors of the FLO Forum. He holds an MBA from Boston University and a BSEE from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He lives in West Springfield, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
